Spice Cup #14 Sate Boemboe - 100g
Sate (or satay) is originally an Indonesian and Malaysian dish, consisting roasted meat on a thin wooden skewer.
With a bold flavours of sweet onion, galangal, ground red peppers, coriander, and tamarind!
Cut the 500g meat (lean pork, chicken, or beef) into cubes and add the spice mix along with 4 tablespoons of oil to the meat. Mix well and then thread the meat onto skewers. Let marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Heat a barbecue or grill pan over high heat. Brush the satay skewers with ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce) and grill them until cooked through and golden brown.
Serve along side a simple cucumber salad and rice,
top with fried onions, peanut sauce, and Koningsvogel Sambal Oelek to complete the dish.
